David A. Claud, MD, PhD
David has spent more than a decade helping self-insured entities such as employers, municipalities, and unions gain more from their healthcare purchase while serving as a National Medical Director at Optum and as a Chief Medical Officer of Activate Healthcare. This, combined with over 15 years of experience in clinical medicine, gives him a unique understanding of the levers available to healthcare purchasers to improve the their beneficiaries’ experience.
Recent accomplishments include serving as Activate Healthcare’s CMO during a time of rapid growth, helping the Onsite Clinic provider to earn earn recognition by KLAS as the 2019 Top Performing Worksite Health Services Vendor.
He holds certifications from the Validation Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
A recovering marathoner, he is currently transitioning to urban bicycling.
